It started with a small, slightly ridiculous problem: too many candles — and nowhere to put the empties.

You know the ones. Half-burnt jars you can't quite bring yourself to bin, crammed in a cupboard because they're “too nice to throw out” but well and truly done. A little graveyard of glass you never asked to store. For something meant to feel calming, the aftermath was anything but.

So we set out to find a better way — candles you can love without the waste. The Scent Stack is our answer: loose scented sand-wax pearls you pour into a vessel you already own and love. No throwaway jar in sight. When it's burned down you don't bin it — you smooth it out, top it up, or pour in something new. One beautiful vessel, endless candles, and not a single jar destined for the back of a cupboard or the bin.

Then we got a little obsessed with colour. Our pearls come in deep black, warm nude and rich wine-red — made to be seen, not hidden away in frosted glass. Burn one on its own, or scoop two or three together and marble them into a shade that's entirely yours. Match your room, your mood, the season, the table you're setting.

And that's where it gets fun. Change the vessel, change the colour mix, nudge the ratio — and you've poured a brand-new candle in about the time it takes to boil the kettle. More black for after-dark. More nude for something soft. A wine-red swirl when you're feeling bold. A different vessel tomorrow? A different candle. It's never the same twice, and that's exactly the point.

Keep the vessels you love. Play with colour. Change the candle whenever the mood takes you — and leave the jar graveyard behind for good.
